31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN DAY 1: THE BEING 1983 (SHREIK SHOW)

The small town of Pottsville, Idaho is under attack from a mutated monster that has been created as the result of dumping toxic waste near the town. Partially filmed in Boise, Idaho this movie stars Martin Landau, Jose Ferrer, Ruth Buzzi, Dorothy Malone and the lovely Marianne Gordon.

Landau is Garson Jones, a scientist who is responsible for the toxic dump, Ferrer is the alcoholic mayor married to big mouth Ruth Buzzi. Malone isn't given much to do except wander around and look crazy as she looks for her lost son, who you come to realize is the monster.

Bill Osco plays the heroic sheriff and Marianne Gordon is the waitress he loves. I always thought the monster was pretty cool and the movie is fine for what it is..a low budget monster flick made for entertainment, nothing more. It was made in 1980 and sat on the shelf for three years until finally released.
