31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN DAY 18: AT THE EARTH'S CORE 1976 (MGM)

What a trip this film is, and that is no pun intended.

This in one fun movie, sure some of the effects aren't that great, but watching today's films with all their high tech crap doesn't make them anymore exciting than a funeral.

Gimme this kind of film anyday. Doug McClure and Peter Cushing star as two men who bore deep into the earth with Cushing's new invention and they find a world under the earth called Pellucider.

The bizarre world is populated with cavemen and women, giant monsters and man eating plants. It seemd that all of the people are enslaved by weird flying monsters. Caroline Munro (the sexiest woman to ever grace a movie screen) is Dia, a Princess among the cavepeople.

I saw this movie 6 times in a row when I worked at a small theater in Gardiner, Montana in 1976 and even had the original poster. I fell in love with the film and will always hold this one very high as a great example of escapist film entertainment.

Recommended viewing and 100 times better than any film made today.
