RAGE AT DAWN 1955 (GOODTIMES)

This is my 4000th post on this blog, so I guess it is fitting that it be a Randolph Scott western.

Scott stars as a federal agent from Chicago that is sent out west to infiltrate the Reno gang and stop a series of robberies.

This is a very well made and unusual western as it is set in Indiana instead of California. The first 20 to 25 minutes show the exploits of the Reno brothers before Scott's character is even brought into the action, and the ending is something that is very unpredictable.

The movie is a standout for the above mentioned reasons as well as the stellar B movie cast which includes Forrest Tucker, J. Carroll Naish, Myron Healy, Denver Pyle, and Richard Garland as the Reno brothers, Mala Powers as their sister, Trevor Bardette, Ken Tobey and Edgar Buchanan.

It is an impressive cast doing a fine job in a western that will strike you as unusual in some spots. Highly Recommended for western fans.
