WITHOUT WARNING 1980 (SCREAM FACTORY)

Finally this had made it to a digital format.

After two bootlegs and many frustrating years trying to find a good print of this film, I can stop looking now thanks to Scream Factory.

This cult film deals with an alien who has come to earth, not for conquest, but to hunt for food. The film opens with two men played by Cameron Mitchell and Darby Hinton who are hunting, but they soon become the hunted as they are attacked and killed by little flying, flesh eating disc monsters that attach themselves to the bodies of the men.

These little killers are thrown by the alien at his intended prey. Pretty cool little monsters they are. This sets the tone for the rest of the film which involves four teens going to a lake and also being hunted by the alien.

There are quite a few shocks in this nifty thriller and a cast of B movie vets that makes it hard to turn down. Besides the lovely Tarah Nutter and Lynn Theel you have Martin Landau as Fred Dobbs, a certified psycho who is ore of a threat to the teens than any alien ever would be, Neville Brand and Ralph Meeker are bar patrons, Sue Ann Langdon is the barmaid, Larry Storch is an ill fated Boy Scout leader and Jack Palance is Taylor, a man who knows the alien is out there and wants to hunt it as well. Kevin Peter Hall plays the alien.

This is B movie heaven, and this wonderful DVD/Blu-ray from Scream is easily the release of the year so far. The picture is crisp and beautiful and it makes for a real viewing experience. I cannot recommend this disc set enough.
