ABILENE TOWN 1946 (TUBI)

Another quality western starring Randolph Scott.

Scott stars as Dan Mitchell, the town marshall of Abilene, Kansas. There is trouble brewing in the town and it has almost reached the boiling point.

The town it seems is divided between homesteaders and cattlemen. Dan tries to keep the peace in town while the Sheriff, a man named 'Bravo' Trimble (Edgar Buchanan) is supposed to keep peace in the entire county. He fails.

Soon the homesteaders find their settlement wiped out by a gang who burns it to the ground. All out war is close at hand.

This is a very well made western and I have yet to see a film with Randolph Scott that I didn't like. Edward L. Marin directed this film and he does an excellent job indeed.

The outstanding cast also includes Ann Dvorak as Rita, a very sexy dabce hall girl, Rhonda Fleming, Lloyd Bridges, Jack Lambert and Hank Petterson.

This is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for any westerns fan. Randolph Scott was one of the greatest actors in history.
