Now before I start this revisit I do want to say that all of the PC people out there can simply tune out before you start your whining.
Williamson stars as a black bounty hunter in a small western town that is full of racism and hate towards black folk. He and his partner, Amos played by D'Urville Martin, take matters into their own hands and make themselves the law for the small town.
There is a lot of hate to clean up and Williamson starts right away. He is still a bounty hunter even thought he is the Sheriff and his main target is a white bigot killer named Jed Clayton, played expertly by William Smith.
There is plenty of violence and action to make this a great western, and a very good message about racism and how ugly it can really be. Sadly this film gets very little notice because of the title, but Williamson produced this gem and even notes at the beginning that he approves of the film.
Jack Arnold helmed this film with his usual aplomb. The rest of the cast includes R.G. Armstrong as a cowardly mayor, Don "Red" Barry. Barbara Leigh, and Carmen Zapata. Check it out if you love westerns because this is a really good film.
