STING OF THE WEST 1971 (MILL CREEK)

Bizarre but very unfunny comedy from Italy.

You know, I have never seen an Italian comedy I really liked and this movie keeps that record going.

Jack Palance stars in this film about a young con man who inherits a gold mine in the old west. The young man is named Tedeum (Giancarlo Prete) and his name pretty much sums this and was the original titles of the film.

Palance is Buck Santini, an even bigger con man who tries to get control of the mine. There are maybe one or two somewhat funny moments, but this film falls flat on everything else.

I like Spaghetti Westerns a lot, but this is a lame "comedy" that tries way too hard to be funny and it doesn't work. There are plenty of sight gags and the dubbing is horrible. Also it's a very wide screen film and Mill Creek put it in 1.33 to 1 aspect ratio and believe me, this makes for frustrating viewing.

The only reason I got this movie is because it's included on a set called "Outlaws And Con Men" which is a 4 disc set. The other films will be reviewed here as well, but this has got to be the worst...at least I hope so.

Avoid at all costs.
