One of the most insane concepts for a movie became one of the most entertaining movies I have seen in a long time. As I said before I am NOT of the MST3K crowd so I am not going to act juvenile and simply say this is a bad movie.
It isn't a bad movie at all. When one sees movies...ANY MOVIE...the suspension of disbelief should be used, but MST3K fans have no logical thought process so they cannot do this.
A huge storm, a waterspout to be exact actually carries sharks into the air and deposits them in a now flooded southern California, and the sharks start eating people. Yes, this IS the stuff of fantasy and it is done well for what it is. Sadly, there is an over abundance of CGI effects, but what can on expect these days.
The cast includes Ian Ziering, John Heard and Tara Reid. Heard is a constantly drunk bar patron who is in love with his bar stool. Ziering makes a good if somewhat lackluster hero and what can I say about Tara Reid except that she looks very good in this film and I am glad she did it. Her acting is fine, but to me the standout is gorgeous Cassie Scerbo as Nova, a sexy as hell barmaid who uses a shotgun anytime she can.
I had a great time watching this film and I find it no worse than most and much better than a hell of a lot of crap they call movies these days. The Asylum created a blitz on the internet and thru social media making this the highest rated and watched movie ever for the SYFY channel. it is good to know that old fashioned exploitation is alive and well.
