Today on TCM they ran the two most influential films in my life. At 3pm they ran the original 1958 version of The Blob starring Steve McQueen. This movie scared me so badly when I first saw it in 1966 that I had nightmares for days after, and it really made me want to see more of these kinds of movies.
The at 6pm tonight they ran Night Of The Living Dead from 1968 and this, as most of you know, is the film I consider to be the single greatest American film ever made. It is also the most influential film I ever saw and it made me want to make movies. Way to go TCM!!
