Stewart Moss stars as a doctor bitten by a bat during the exploration of a cave which turns him into a blood drinking monster that terrorizes a small California town. Michael Pataki is the sheriff who actually has no interest in helping the doctor, but wants the doctors wife.
This is a somewhat forgotten little gem from American International from 1974, but I like this movie and the ending is great depending on your point of view. This is paired with the film Beast Within on a Midnight Movie double feature. If you can find it, check it out.
