Why this excellent western hasn't made it to DVD is beyond me, but this Universal film stars John Agar as a small town sheriff who has the task of seeing a gunman hang at sundown, and he has to fight most of the town to see that justice is done.
Agar, one of my favorite actors ever is helped by one of the best supporting casts in western history including Mamie Van Doran, Leif Eriksen, Richard Boone, Randy Stuart, Colleen Gray, Harry Morgan, Paul Fix, Stafford Repp and Lewis Martin plus a young Clint Eastwood in a small role at the beginning.
If you happen to get a chance to see this film I couldn't recommend it enough for western fans or just plain movie lovers in general.
For lovers of movies from the silent era to modern day with an emphasis on horror, sci-fi, exploitation, WIP, westerns and anything of the fantastic and bizarre. THIS SITE IS DEDICATED TO BOB WILKINS, GEORGE ROMERO, ALAN FREED, ROGER CORMAN, HELGA LINE, CAROLINE MUNRO, JOHN FREDRIKSEN, JOHN ZACHERLE, CLEO MOORE , ROSALBA NERI, ERIKA BLANC, FEMI BENUSSI, SHIRLEY CORRIGAN, ROSANNA YANNI, MIRTA MILLER, KARIN DOR, BARBARA BOUCHET, MAMIE VAN DOREN, BARBARA STEELE and, of course, CASEY KASEM.
