QUATERMASS XPERIMENT 1955 (MGM)

I have reviewed this several times before on here.

This, as everyone knows is one of my top 5 movies of all time and I am writing this here because as I reported earlier, this film is finally being released on Blu-ray from Kino Lorber is December.

My copy is from MGM MOD and it is the best I have seen this film ever! I will be buying the Blu-ray and it will be announced here if and when I hear of the extras that are planned.

Brian Donlevy is Bernard Quatermass, a total no-nonsense scientist who sends a rocket into space with three astronauts, but only one returns after being lost for a time. Slowly we and the scientists discover that the astronaut is mutating into a strange monster that kills both people and animals to live.

The final revelation of the monster is something I will never forget. I remember seeing this for the first time on KCPX in Salt Lake City when I was young, then I saw it again on TNT in the 90's. I actually took time off from work so I could watch it!

I LOVE this film, and am very excited that Kino Lorber has decided to release it. Great stuff and I am sure the Blu-ray will make this film look better than anyone has ever seen. For the time being, pick up the MGM disc if you haven't already seen this gem.
