This one also has a new English dubbed soundtrack just like "Batwoman". It was never released in the USA and there are reasons for this. The primary one is that this is a 1967 film shot in Black and White.
The film centers around an ancient Satanic cult that is run by panther women and their efforts to raise Elohim, and ancient God from the dead. They run afoul of two female wrestlers, The Golden Rubi (Elizabeth Campbell) and Loreta Venus (Ariadne Welter) who try to stop them.
They are helped by a detective who is the boyfriend of Rubi and a masked wrestler named El Angel. It's a pretty good little film and it's especially eerie when Elohim rises from his tomb as a rotted corpse.
The film looks like it was done in the late 1950's and that is due to the gothic atmosphere. The film moves along at a good pace and there is of course, the mandatory wrestling chasllenge when Rubi and Venus fight two pather women in the ring.
Not much has been written about this film and it's not too well known. This was out in a Spanish only version for a couple of years, but VCI has released it with a new dubbed soudtrack and that has a lot of people disappointed. I find it interesting if not well done.
The print is beautiful and if Mexican horror is your thing, then get this DVD or Blu-ray and see it!! RECOMMENDED!!
