Anyone who was captivated by the Universal monster films of the 30's and 40's will love this look at the life of probably the most well known name in horror and suspense.
The makes of this really took their time and show Karloff as a human being and not just a well respectred actor. They don't make gentlemen like William Pratt anymore.
This film looks at the entire body of work Karloff did from his beginnings in silent cinema, to the Universal classics such as "Frankenstein" and Bride Of Frankenstein", to the MGM and Columbia films as well as Monogram and his huge body of TV work.
There are a lot of people interviewed for this including Joe Dante, Caroline Munro, Roger Corman, John Landis and hundreds more. Many others were interviewed but not included only for the sake of time.
There are some great clips of Karloff's classics and they do go into a good bit of detail on "Thriller" which was hosted by Karloff in 1960 thru 1962. It is one of the best TV series ever created.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this to ANY horror fan. The one bad thing I didn't like about this was the two or three short clips with so called actor Ron Pearlman shooting his mouth off. This "man" we could always do with less of.
However, you shouldn't pass up this great look at the life and career of the one and only Boris Karloff. This is currently available on TUBI and Shout TV, which produced this as well.
Ron Pearlman ruins everything he's in. What a despicable lout.
