DAY OF THE TRIFFIDS 1963 (CHEEZY FLICKS)

One of my favorite 60's sci-fi films, this is based on the John Wyndam novel of the same name. Howard Keel stars as a man who retains his sight after eye surgery while most of the population of the world loses theirs sight after watching a meteor shower. On top of all this there are now giant man eating plants called Triffids roaming the countryside, and they do look rather menacing.
The movie was too short after they finished filming so the added scenes of Kieron Moore and Janette Scott in the lighthouse. This does not distract from the film, but only adds to it.
This is a great little film with plenty of action and shocks for any sci-fi fan to indulge in. Recommended!!
