Rosanna Podesta is a young woman who is terrorized in a castle by a scarred madman who survived the holocaust of WW2, and now who goes around torturing women he considers impure.
The woman, Mary Hunter and her husband Max try to unravel the mystery with the help of a scarred butler played by Christopher Lee. Seeing the scarred killer for the first time is a shocker and so is the torture scene involving a young woman and a very hungry rat in a cage!!
The print from Sinister is very nice and the colors are deep. The ending credits have been tacked on from an inferior source, but that is a very minor point. If you haven't seen this shocker from Antonio Margheriti, I think you should. It isn't too shabby.
