LATITUDE ZERO 1969 (TOKYO SHOCK)

A very fun adventure film.

This Japanese/American co-production stars Joseph Cotton as a man who is 200 years old. He an his crew rescue three men trapped in a diving bell and take then to a world under the sea where no one ages. All seems well until the man's rival, Malic, played with gusto by Cesar Romero attacks.

Soon we see bat monsters, flying subs, giant rats and a griffin. This is all great fun and a joy to watch. Much of today's action films owe this one everything. The acting is well one and the film moves along at a very good clip.

Romero steals the show as the lead villain, Malic. His lair is typical comic book bad guy style and he even turns his former lover into a huge flying griffin, that actually proves to be his undoing.

The print from Tokyo Shock is perfect and in widescreen. This is a perfect addition to any DVD collection. The rest of the cast includes Patricia Medina, Richard Jaeckel, Akira Takarada, and Linda Haynes.

This is one of the best films I have ever seen and is Highly Recommended.
