DEAD EYES OF LONDON 1964 (SINISTER CINEMA)

Fun little krimi film I finally got to see.

The film has a great plot involving very rich men who are being killed at an alarming rate. Their bodies are being dumped into the Thames river.

Inspector Larry Holt (Joachim Fuchsberger) is assigned to the case and he also discovers that all of the victims were heavily insured. There are a lot of twists and turns for Holt.

All of the corpses also have a clues attached to their bodies written in braille. Holt tries to piece together these clues and becomes involved with a young woman named Nora Ward (Karin Baal).

The main killer here is a grotesque man named Jacob Farrell (Ady Berber) who is someone you never forget once you see him. However, Jacob is killed late in the film by his unseen boss whom we discover later is the Reverend Paul Dearborn (Dieter Borsche), who runs a home for the blind.

This is a remake of the 1939 Bela Lugosi film "The Human Monster" and I think this is the better of the two. Edgar Wallace wrote the original story, of course and it moves along nicely. I found myself really absorbed in the film.

The print is in very good shape and while I am sure most of you have seen this film, for those that haven't, I recommend it.
