ROAD TO NASHVILLE 1966 (RHINO)

Now, I really enjoyed this piece of film history.

The plot is very simple . A Hollywood movie producer (Richard Arlen) send his flunky, Colonel Feetlebaum (Doodles Weaver) to Nashville to get things set up for a movie starring country music artists.

That's the plot. We do get close to 40 songs performed by the many great talents in the movie including Marty Robbins (who also produced), Johnny Cash, Connie Smith, The Stoneman Family, Porter Wagoner, Webb Pierce, Waylon Jennings, Kitty Wells, Faron Young and many more.

Not only am I a huge fan of Country Music from this era, there are many things in this film that reminded me of my youthful days during this time.

I really enjoyed this almost two hour movie filled with music from my youth and from a time when things were so much better all the way around.

If you're also a fan of early country music, check this one out. It will not disappoint.
