This doesn't rate too high in anyones book according to online reviews, but then again I think a LOT of people don't understand this movie.
It reminded me of things like "THX 1138" and other dystopian movies I have seen. It's dark, unrelenting and very bleak. I was surprised to see that Troma picked it up for distribution here in the USA.
The story centers around a young woman named Layla (Sarah Breen) who lives in a genetically engineered where people are created by the governmentand assigned jobs by that same said government.
Layla is supposed to be in charge of BDSM activities, but the thought makes her sick so she denies it. This makes her an enemy of the state and therefore she is always hunted, yet all she wants to do is live a normal life.
This movie is not for sci-fi fans looking for tons of action, special effects and big name stars. Director David King shot this on video, at least it looks that way and did it with a very low budget.
I think everyone should give this a try and it may not be your cup of tea, but then again you might like it. It sometimes reminded ome of the times we live in now, especially the last 4 years.
