Normally I don't like most contemporary films, but there are exceptions to every rule, and this is one of them. Based on Jim Thompson's book of the same name from back in the 50's, this combination exploitation film and film noir really hits the spot.
Casey Affleck stars as a psychotic sheriff who will kill anyone at anytime to keep his first murder a secret. Kate Hudson stars as Affleck's lover who meets a very nasty ending and sexy Jessica Alba is a prostitute whose fate is very hard to watch.
The ending is typical film noir and that is all I will say. I highly recommend this film for anyone who likes their films slightly twisted.
