This is the 4th of July and I will be taking it easy but also listening to the very first American Top 40 broadcast from July 4th, 1970.
Ahh the memories associated with it!! The show grew from 8 stations to over 600 and many major markets overseas until the final broadcast with Casey in 2009.
The number one song that week was Mama Told Me Not To Come by Three Dog Night and the very first song ever played was the number 40 song End Of Our Road by Marvin Gaye.
