This film had a much smaller budget than the original, which is strange and it was also filmed in black and white while the original was in color. These are two small points that in no way hinder the film, it's just a film world oddity.
Brett Halsey stars as the son of the original scientist who charges ahead with his fathers experiments. Vincent Price is back as his Uncle and he tries to talk Halsey out of it. In this film it isn't a scientific accident that brings about another monster, it's espionage. Halsey's partner in his experiments is actually a spy trying to steal the project. He attacks Halsey and throws him into the matter transmitter and deliberately throws a fly in the works as well.
The fly monster is much larger in stature than in the original film an the effects aren't as good, of course, but it is effective as the monster hunts down the men who created him and kills them one by one. This is a good bet for monster movie fans.
