I admit I love this movie. Jim Davis and Robert Griffin star as scientists who must travel to Africa after a rocket crashes with radioactive infested wasps on board. They soon find huge wasps running out of control in the middle of Africa.
Cheap and fun, this film actually uses stop motion animation for some of the scenes of the wasps, and it looks good for what it is. The monsters are cool and they use tons of stock footage from Stanley & Livingston as the scientists trek across the dark continent. The rest of the cast includes Joel Fluellen, Barbara Turner, Eduardo Ciannelli and Vladamir Sokoloff.
The VHS I used to have had the actual color ending where the entire film went red when the volcanos started erupting, but I have never seen that version on DVD. Hey, if you love 50's sci-fi like I do, check it out.
