Director Antonio Margheriti brings us this eerie and well made thriller about a writer who accepts a bet from Edgar Allen Poe that he cannot spend the night in a haunted house on All Souls Eve.
The writer soon encounters people in the house that turn out to be ghosts who must relive their last few moments on earth every year, and they need his blood to come back the next year!!
Barbara Steele looks sexy as hell as one of the living dead who actually tries to help the young writer escape the house. this is a textbook example of how a horror movie should be made. Great acting, great music and camera work, great plot and great black and white phtotgraphy. This film is perfect for any horror fan and you really shouldn't miss it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
