Eric Braeden stars as Charles Forbin, a genius who has developed the ultimate computer to help world peace. He names it Colossus and the movie opens as he fires it up and finds it's a huge success with everything working perfectly.
Soon the computer begins making strange requests and demands which even throws Forbin for a loop. Another computer, much like Colossus named Guardian is located in the USSR and they want to link up.
Colossus enforces this order by launching Nuclear missiles and it soon becomes clear that the computer is much more than anyone ever thought.
This is a very well written and acted thriller that shouldn't be missed by any sci-fi fan. The Blu-ray presentation from Shout Factory is excellent and it only makes the presentation that much better.
The rest cast includes Susan Clark, Gordon Pinsent, William Schallert, George Stanford Brown, Marion Ross, Dolph Sweet and in an unbilled role, Robert Quarry.
One of the best releases of the year so far!!
