THE CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN 1973 (SINISTER CINEMA)

One of the weirdest damn films I have ever seen!!

I have often said Jess Franco makes movies like nobody else, and this ought to prove it. Dr. Frankenstein (Dennis Price) and his assistant Morpho (Jess Franco) succeed in bring a silver skinned monster to life at the very beginning of the film, but are killed almost immediately by Melisa, a half bird half woman creature that actually makes screeching sounds like a bird!!

She brings the monster to her Master, Cagliostro (Howard Vernon) who wants to kidnap beautiful women and create a perfect mate for the monster. Melisa (Anne Libert) helps in this too as she gate several women and chains them up in the dungeon for surgery.

Frankenstein's daughter Vera (Beatriz Savon) finds her father dead in his lab, but manages to revive him long enough to learn what has happened and she vows vengeance. Vera is captured by Melisa and tortured by Cagliostro until she becomes his assistant.

This is a truly bizarre film as you can see. There are tons of scenes that will stay with you for days including almost everyone involving the screeching Melisa as well as when Dr. Frankenstein is revived TWICE and kind of flops his arms around while he is coming back to life.

Make no mistake, this is an entertaining piece of cinema and one that could only have come out of the mind of Franco. The widescreen print is very nice and all I can say is see this for something you've probably never seen before.

AKA The Erotic Rites Of Frankenstein.
