Russ Tamblyn stars as a high school in his 7th year!! He's a sassy, over the top smartass who gives everyone a bad time and decides to make some quick cash and friends by taking over the drug trade.
He puts the make on a young teacher named Arlene Williams (Jan Sterling) and muscles his way into a drug group headed by Coleridge (John Drew Barrymore).
The 50's jive talk is something to behold, but what really captured my attention in the movies was the smoldering performance by Mamie Van Doren as Gwen Dulaine, the aunt of Tamblyn's character Tony Baker. How any man could resist Mamie coming on to them is something to ponder.
As it turns out Tony is really an undercover drug cop named Mike Wilson and things are brought to a violent end when he smashes the drug ring run by Mr. A. (Jackie Coogan).
Jack Arnold directed this epic and it's a hell of a lot of fun. The rest of the cast includes Ray Anthony, Michael Landon, Diane Jergens, Charles Chaplin, Jr., Jody Fair, Lyle Talbot and Jerry Lee Lewis.
The opening credits have Jerry Lee pounding out a great 50's rock number on a piano on the back of a semi truck. This is a viewing experience you'll never forget. I have reviewed this film before from a bootleg I have had for years.
This disc is from Olive and it looks fantastic. A HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FILM!!!! Best line in the film..."You got 32 teeth mister. Wanna try for none?"
