HOLLOW TRIUMPH 1948 (MILL CREEK)

A small time gangster plans and succeeds in stealing a ton of money from a big time gambler and takes a doctors identity to protect himself, only he gets a very nasty suprise.
Paul Henreid does an excellent job as John Muller, small time crook who thinks way too big, Joan Bennett is his would be girlfriend and Eduard Franz is his brother who works for the Federal Government.
Great film noir with dark shadows, long hallways, lots of rain and Henreid chainsmoking thru the entire movie.
The payoff is very memorable and is what film noir is best at. Dark, moody, bleak and very well worth watching.
Look quickly for Thomas B. Henry and Jack Webb in his film debut.
