VENUS FLYTRAP 1970 (MILL CREEK)

Ok, this takes some explaining. In the days of VHS, this film appeared with the title of "Revenge Of Dr. X" and had the cast and credits on the actual video taken from "Mad Doctor of Blood Island", for what reason I don't know. Well now in the DVD age it appears again with the same damn credits. This is actually a bizarre horror film about a scientist from NASA who takes a vacation in Japan and creates a man eating plant monster!!

James Craig is the scientist, his lovely Japanese co-star is Atsuko Rome and both do a good job although Craig seems to get over the top when ranting and raving and trying to be like Colin Clive in Frankenstein. The monster suit is pretty cool and the movie should be about 20 minutes shorter, but it is bizarre enough to warrant your attention. At the end a goat lives while the mad doctor dies!!
