SIGN OF THE FOUR 1932 (TREELINE)

Arthur Wontner stars as Sherlock Holmes in this very well made early film in which Holmes helps a young woman who is threatened by an escaped murderer.

Dr. Watson is played by Ian Hunter and he does a good job with the role and it is interesting to see actors other than Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce in the Holmes and Watson roles.

Director Graham Cutts does a good job with this story based on the novel by Arthur Conan Doyle. Recommended for all Holmes fans.
