SHERLOCK HOLMES IN WASHINGTON 1943 (MPI)

Holmes and Watson travel to Washington D.C in this nifty little thriller.

They must locate a British subject who is traveling from his London office to Washington D.C. He was carrying a top secret document and hasn't been seen for a couple of days.

Holmes (Basil Rathbone) deduces that before the man vanished he passed a microfilmed copy of the documents to someone, but whom? He finds himself racing against time to beat the Nazi's.

This is a fast paced little B film that any fan of the series should enjoy. Rathbone and Nigel Bruce are excellent as always in the lead roles and the rest of the solid cast includes Marjorie Lord, Henry Daniell, George Zucco, Gavin Muir, and Holmes Herbert.

The print quality from MPI is beautiful thanks to the UCLA Film Preservation Department. The plot is simple, but the movie is oh so much fun, at least for me.
