Alex Nicol stars as an American writer living in England who is befriended by a couple who live across the lake from his home. His character of Mark makes fast friend with the man named Bev (Sidney James) and his stunning wife Carol (Hillary Brooke).
Mark has trouble finishing his new novel because Carol is always trying to put the make on him. She finally convinces him to murder Bev, but he cannot bring himself to do it.
One foggy day out on the lake there is an accident and Bev is hurt badly. While Mark tries to get help, Carol throws her husband's body overboard. The court finds his death an accident, but the police aren't so sure.
Director Ken Hughes handles the directing chorse very well and weaves a complex tale of murder and lust. This was originally titled "House Across The Lake" but it was changed to the more bizarre title it now has. Why? Who knows.
Anyway, this isn't a bad little thriller that might remind you of a few other genre titles made here in the US. If you're so inclined, check it out.
