THE BLACK SIX 1973 (MILL CREEK)

Interesting blaxploitation film.

Matt Cimber directed this movie which is considered the first all black biker film.

The film opens with the killing of a young black man because he is seeing a white girl and her biker brother doesn't like that idea at all. He and his gang of bikers kill the man by beating him to death with chains on a football field.

Enter Bubba Daniels (Gene Washington) who gets a telegram about his brother Eddie's death. Daniels and his friends head up to the town Daniels is from to investigate the death.

Everywhere Bubba goes he finds people unwilling to talk about what happened or to help with the investigation. Things slowly get out of hand and Bubba and his friends decide to get things done their way.

This leads to a final confrontation between the white biker gang and the Black 6. The white biker gang is led by a huge man who calls himself Thor and is played by football great Ben Davidson.

As a matter of fact the entire cast is made up of NFL stars such as Carl Eller, Joe Green, Gene Washington, Lem Barney, Mercury Morris, Willie Lanier and more.

This isn't a bad film at all and I found myself really enjoying it. The source material for the film was obviously a 2002 DVD print from Brentwood, but it's very watchable and to be honest, it's probably the only way to see this film anymore.

This is included on a set of six movies from Mill Creek called "Soul Team Six" and more from that set will follow in the next few days.
