The film opens with an assassin Makato (Sonny Chiba) killing a drug dealer just released from jail after he is found innocent of whatever crime he had committed.
Makato is arrested after being betrayed by the person who had him kill the drug dealer. The rest of the film deals with Makato escaping from jail with the help of a gorgeous blonde assassin named Sybil (Brigitte Nielsen).
Together these two embark on a ruthless killing spree to find the traitor and some missing money. Robert Davi is Eddie Cook, a cop assigned to the case along with his partner Vinnie Rizzo (Steven Bauer).
There is an interesting and violent game of cat and mouse between the killers and the cops. I liked this movie and it seems to me this was a co-production between some US corporations and Toei Studios in Japan, which I find interesting since the film takes place in New Orleans.
I have read a lot of negtive things about this movie, but in reality when one watches this kind of movie, one should know what they are in for. I like Davi in almost any role and Nielsen as well as Cindy Ambuehl, who plays a special government agent also involved in the case are both easy on the eyes.
The rest of the cast includes Jan Michael Vincent, Eric Cordora, Jim Chemento and Mario Opinato.
