JINX MONEY 1948 (WARNER ARCHIVE)

William Beaudine directed this fun Bowery Boys effort.

Slip (Leo Gorcey) and Sach (Huntz Hall) find money wrapped in a newspaper in an area where a top gambler was killed the night before. Before they know it they are $50,000 richer.

This causes them boys to be sought after by the police and gangsters. The usual hijinks ensue and it's very enjoyable. Everyone who steals the money from Slip and Sach dies by being stabbed by a mysterious killer with an umbrella.

This causes Sach to have nightmares about umbrellas, and that in itself is an interesting scene. If you're a fan of these films, then I suggest you see it if you haven't already.

Good and simple escapest entertainment that will make you smile and maybe even laugh out loud.

The rest of the cast includes the usual suspects...Bernard Gorcey, Sheldon Leonard, Gabriel Dell, Donald MacBride, Betty Caldwell and Wanda McKay.
