INVADERS FROM MARS 1986 (MGM)

Those of you familiar with the original 1953 version will be apalled, like I was at this turgid remake that really makes no sense and is a waste of time. Tobe Hooper directed this flop starring Karne Black and her son Hunter Carson. I am telling you, this movie sucks and I don't usually say that.
Avoid at all costs.

STRANGE INVADERS (MGM)

This interesting little film is on a double feature disc with a remake of Invaders From Mars, and it makes for good viewing. In the year 1958 aliens arrive on earth and take over a small town in order to study and learn about human life. The experiment lasts until 1983 and come to find out they have actually succeeded in mating with humans.
Paul Le Mat, Nancy Allen and Louise Fletcher are the human while character actors such as the late Ken Tobey are the aliens. This is a fun movie and one you dont really have to think about, just enjoy.

HEADLESS GHOST (VCI)

Innocent little comedy horror film about a headless ghost seeking to find it's body in a castle with the help of three tourists. Herman Cohen wrote and produced this entertaining little film.
This is included on the same disc as the film below, and it makes for a great night of fun viewing from the late 1950's. Thanks VCI.

HORRORS OF THE BLACK MUSEUM (VCI)

The great Herman Cohen produced this classic thriller about a madman who uses diabolical devices to kill people then write best selling books about the murders. Michael Gough stars as a madman obsessed with murder. The eyeball gouging scene is always fun to watch as so is the ending to this 1959 color shocker.
This is one of the best horror films of the time period and very recommended.

GUNS, GIRLS AND G-STRINGS (MILL CREEK)

This is a complete set of the films of the legendary Andy Sidaris. Andy made action films for men and women with good looking men and women starring in the films. The most famous are such films as Hard Hunter, Savage Beach, Hard Ticket To Hawaii and more.
This set is a godsend to Sidaris fans and at an average price of $7.99 is it a most welcome addition to any film library.

RIP PETER FALK

The man who played Columbo on TV has died at the age of 83. Falk played the role for to perfection and was also in Princess Bride and one of my favorite films All The Marbles where he played a wrestling manager. A great talent that will be missed.

During my absense I missed posting the 85th birthday of movie director Roger Corman, the 39th birthday of sexy Carmen Electra and so I will post them here now, and i have a LOT of reviews coming up in the following weeks......so happy birthday to Roger and Carmen.

I AM BACK.....FINALLY

After a couple of months I am returning to this blog with a vengeance!! I have a lot to add and will be doing so over the next few days.

I am shutting down this blog until sometime later this summer. My divorce has caused me to have to move and I no longer have access to the internet. Thanks for all your support and I wil return here as soon as my life gets back on track.

GHOSTKEEPER (SINISTER CINEMA)

Rare film from Sinister Cinema about three people who are stranded in a lodge in the mountains of Canada and who are soon terrorized by an old lady there, her son and a demon known as a windigo. The movie is very low budget and is very creepy and well filmed in Alberta Canada.
The actors are all unknowns but do a great job. The ending is a shocker and very cool. Highly Recommeded!!

PLAN NINE COMPANION (IMAGE)

This is a two hour documentary that covers just about every aspect of Ed Wood's Plan Nine From Outer Space. It was made in 1997 and some of the people in it have since passed away, but this is a MUST for any fan of Woods or Plan Nine.
I love Ed's movies and I always have, even before it became "the thing" to do. I was extremely honored in 1997 when Montana Magazine did an article on a movie I was filimng and said that I was aspiring to be Ed Wood, and they compared my films to his.
This documentary is on the Plan Nine disc from Image so if you haven't checked it out yet I highly recommend you do so.

DEVIL'S HAND (BCI)

This is a newly remastered print of one of my favorite 60's horror films about a lovely young woman who belongs to a devil cult that is trying to get a man to join. Linda Christian stars as Bianca, the sexy woman who tries to seduce Robert Alda into joining her cult of  worshippers.
This is a very underrated film and a great addition to your horror collection. I love the theme music as well. This is available from various sources and if you get the chance check it out.

FRANKENSTEIN AND THE MONSTER FROM HELL (PARAMOUNT)

Peter Cushing again returns as the mad doctor who is now running an asylum for the insane. He uses a young inmate who is a skilled surgeon to help him create a hideous monster out of various body parts from dead inmates. The monster is very impressive and the gore level for this kind of film is high so it carries an R rating. This is very different from all the other Hammer Frankenstein films, but it is very well made and a highly recommended treat for horror fans.
