CHILDREN SHOULDN'T PLAY WITH DEAD THINGS 1973 (DIAMOND)

The late, great Bob Clark directed this classic horror film.

A group of young actors go to an island and perform a black magic ceremony that is supposed to bring back the dead...only thin is it ends up not working.....for a while.

Things get really weird as the dead finally do rise in one of the most memorable sequences in horror film history. They eat the living and some of them move very quickly.

This is a film, once seen not easily forgotten and it has one of the best pre-credit scenes in any horror film I have ever seen. It used to run all the time on KCPX TV in Salt Lake City, Utah. Very Highly Recommended!!

CURSE OF THE CRYING WOMAN 1963 (BEVERLY WILSHIRE)

A fine example of Mexican filmmaking.

A young woman inherits a castle only to find it haunted by witches and demons, most notably the "wailing woman". The evil spirit will come back to life after a spear is taken out of her heart on a certain day.

Rosa Arenas and Abel Salazer are the young couple who inherit the castle and find evil as well as the long lost husband of the witch who now lives there locked up in the dungeon. He is finally released and he does get his revenge.

This is a finely crafted little film and it is, I believe one of five such horror films about the "Wailing Woman" that was made in mexico about this time. Recommended fun.

DOOMSDAY MACHINE 1972 (SHOUT FACTORY)

One of the oddest sci-fi films I have ever seen!

An all star B movie cast in a tale about Red China using a "Doomsday" device and several people are sent into space in the hopes of saving mankind. There are several men and three women on this two year mission, and you just know trouble will be a happening soon.

The cast is really interesting...you have Mike Farrell as a reporter, James Craig, Scott (Denny) Miller, Grant Williams, Bobby Van, Henry Wilcoxon, lovely Lorri Scott, and two of my favorite sexy as hell women Ruta Lee and Mala Powers and of course doing the countdown is........Casey Kasem!!

This movie was on KWGN from Denver Colorado when I first saw it and I was very confused by the ending. The filmmakers ran out of money and some of the characters disappear without a trace and then they hired other actors to voice over some action towards the end where the last two survivors meet up with the beings of Venus....I think. I actually thought I was watching a different movie!! I was also always fascinated with the many garish colors on the ship. The lighting is very unique for this kind of a film.

Movies like this make me love movies even more and that is because I completely understand the plight of working with very little money. This disc is from Elvira's Movie Macabre and she makes the entire film worth watching with her snide remarks and such. I will recommend this only to people who are die hard fans such as myself or to Mala Powers fans.

SLAUGHTER HIGH 1986 (LIONSGATE)

One of my favorite horror films of the 80's.

Simon Scuddamore is Marty, a total loser in high school that people always play pranks on. One goes too far and results in his being burned and turned into a deformed freak. Flash to 10 years later and all involved are invited to a class reunion.

Caroline Munro is Carol, easily the sexiest woman in the film and my main reason for liking this film so much. Soon all eight people find themselves being killed one by one as a mysterious killer seeks revenge.

Not a hard plot to figure out, and by no means an original movie, but a good slasher if that is what you like. Interesting deaths and good effects, plus a bizarre twist at the end.

WAXWORK 1988 (LIONSGATE)

A very odd but enjoyable little movie.

Zach Galligan and several other young people including sexy as hell Deborah Foreman and gorgeous Michelle Johnson are invited by a mysterious man, played by David Warner to visit a wax museum he is opening.

It seems that if you enter past the red line at each exhibit, you actually live out what that exhibit is. One man encounters ferocious werewolves and there are others like vampires and mad killers.

What I found most interesting was Deborah Foreman's virginal character is strongly attracted to the Marquis DeSade and is drawn into that world by the wax figure. Director Anthony Hickox does a very good job with this movie and it is full of monsters and very eccentric character.

Patrick Mcnee as a wheelchair bound monster hunter is hilarious and serious at the same time as only Macnee could do. Recommended horror film that will both scare and delight horror fans.

CORRIDORS OF EVIL 1962 (GAIAM)

This is actually Carnival of Souls under a title I have never heard of.

Candace Hilligoss plays a young woman who survives a car accident only to find herself sometimes drifting into a world populated by ghouls who seem to want her to join them.

One of the most frightening films you'll ever see, this film still has the ability to scare after 50 years. It was filmed in Lawrence, Kansas by Herk Harvey, who never made another film, which is a shame.

If you haven't seen this yet, you should. There really is nothing better than a damn good scare, and this will deliver the goods.

MURDER AT THE BASKERVILLES 1937 (TREELINE)

Sherlock Holmes visits his old friend, Sir Henry Baskerville.

Whils visiting his friend he finds himself involved in a double murder at Baskerville Hall. Arthur Wontnor is again playing Holmes and Ian Fleming is Dr. Watson.

Lyn Harding shows up again as Prof. Moriarty and then there is lovely Judy Gunn as Diane Baskerville who really steals every scene she is in.

This is a great little murder mystery and one that will keep you entertained from beginning to end. Recommended!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO....

VENGEANCE OF FU MANCHU 1967 (WARNER ARCHIVE)

Finally Warner has turned out some of the Fu Manchu movies.

Christopher Lee again helms the lead role as Fu and lovely Tsia Chin is his evil and sadistic daughter, Lin Tang.

This time around Manchu decides to turn a condemned man into a replica of his arch nemesis, Nayland Smith and have him arrested for murder. What a plot idea this is!!

Smith is played this time by Douglas Wilmer and returning as Dr. Petrie is Howard Marion Crawford. There is plenty of action and intrigue as well as torture. Included in the supporting cast is sexy Maria Rohm, Suzanne Roquette whose character of the daughter of a kidnapped doctor gets branded and stretched on a rack before the fun is over, Horst Frank and Mona Chong as Jasmine.

Good pulp adventure fun in a very nice widescreen print. Recommended!!

MAN WHO COULD CHEAT DEATH 1959 (LEGEND)

Interesting and offbeat film from Hammer.

This is actually a remake of "The Man In Half Moon Street" about a man who uses periodic transplants of certain human organs to stay eternally young.

Anton Differing is Dr. Georges Bonner who is terrified of death and therefore will do anything to stay young. Gorgeous Hazel Court is the woman he wants to join him in eternal life and Christopher Lee is determined to stop him.

This is a very well done and fun film from beginning to end. Differing plays his character very, very well and Lee makes a good hero. Hazel Court NEVER looked lovelier than in this film.

If you get a chance check out this rare DVD from Legend. Recommended!!

DEATH SPORT 1978 (SHOUT FACTORY)

I was first introduced to this movie on Creature Features hosted by Bob Wilkins and finally got to see it in the 80's.

David Carradine and the sexy Claudia Jennings are two people known as Range Guides, people who live a life of freedom. They are captured and forced to participate in a game of life and death by the ruler of a city called Helix.

Richard Lynch is Ankar Moor, the man who seeks to destroy them both. Lots of action and a very fast moving film. Directed by Allen Arkush and produced by Roger Corman. Recommended!!

TRISH STRATUS: 100% STRATUSFACTION GUARANTEED 2003 (WWE)

This is a 3 hour dvd showing the career of one of the most gorgeous female wrestlers ever.

Trish started as a magazine cover model and then moved into wrestling and became THE most popular female wrestler in the world. This DVD covers her career with a few classic matches .

I wish it was longer as it only runs about 2 1/2 hours. Most WWE DVDs runs 5 to 10 hours, but this was an early release and I am sure WWE was testing the waters. If you are a wrestling fan and love gorgeous women, then this is for you.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO.....

TALES FROM THE CRYPT SEASON 2 1990 (WARNER)

This season consists of 18 episodes hosted by the Crypt Keeper.

Some very good episodes came out of this second year of the show and my favorite was episode 6 called The Thing From The Grave which features Teri Hatcher rescued from a madman by her murdered lover.

Teri never looked sexier and who can resist her tied to a bed in a blue teddy?? Not me brother. Wow. Episode 18 is called The Secret and is about a small boy with a very interesting secret.

This season was very good and a hint at what was to come in future seasons. A highly Recommended three disc set.
