THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH 1999 (MGM)
Not too bad of a James Bond film.
Pierce Brosnan stars as James Bond and this film concerns Bond trying to protect a beautiful oil heiress from her former kidnapper who happens to be a man who cannot feel pain.
Renard (Robert Carlyle) not only cannot feel pain, but is also trying to set off several nuclear weapons and take over the world. Elektra King (Sophie Marceau) is the heiress and she makes a double cross on Bond when he learns that she is actually working with Renard in his world domination plot.
There is plenty of crazy action in this film including the opening sequence boat chase. Brosnan does a good job as Bond and comes across as very believable. It's nice to see Denise Richards in her role as Dr. Christmas Jones.
I have always liked Bond films from the past and this one is the latest I have seen. Anything past this time, I really have no interest in. Good action, a good plot and just good fun is what this film is.
If you're a Bond fan you should give this film a look.

PHIL SPECTOR 1939-2021
Finally!!
I usually don't write too many things hyper critical of people, but this is an exception.
Spector died on Jan. 16th, 2021 from what is being reported as Covid related problems. I am not a believer in this Covid nonsense, but if it is real then I'm happy it took such a piece of trash like Spector.
This crazy idiot killed off one of the most beautiful women in the acting business named Lana Clarkson back in 2003 and has spent a very confortable 17 plus years living off of the taxpayer.
It couldn't have happened to a better person. Good riddence to bad rubbish.

TOP 28 DVD AND BLU-RAY RELEASES OF 2020 PART 2
Well here we go again with part two of the countdown.
20. ABOMINABLE SNOWMAN OF THE HYMALAYAS 1956 (SHOUT FACTORY) BLU-RAY... Peter Cushing and Forrest Tucker star in this excellent film about two explorers discovering a strange race of people. One of the best of it's kind.
19. DEADLY RECORD 1959 (SINISTER CINEMA) DVD...Barbara Shelley stars in this excellent murder mystery about an airline pilot accused of killing his wife. A rare film indeed.
18. JUNGLE PRINCESS 1956 (SINISTER CINEMA)DVD... Greg Luce strikes again with this super rare Philippine production. This features a kind of "Tarzan" but only of the female variety.
17. GHASTLY ONES 1968 (SINISTER CINEMA) DVD... Andy Milligan gem about three couples forced to stay in a mansion where they are stalked and killed one by one. Hardly original, but hey, it's Andy Milligan.
16. FENOMENAL AND THE TREASURE OF TUT 1968 (SINISTER CINEMA) DVD... Strange Italian film about a masked superhero who is searching for a lost relic. One of the oddest films I have ever seen.
15. BLOOD AND FLESH: THE REEL LIFE AND GHASTLY DEATH OF AL ADAMSON 2019 (SEVERIN) BLU-RAY... This is a shocking and very informative documentary that looks at the life of Al Adamson who made some of the most entertaining films for drive ins. Severin should be commended for bringing this out.
14. COBRA WOMAN 1944 (SHOUT FACTORY) BLU-RAY... Stunning film starring Maria Montez as twin sisters. One is pure evil and the other is innocent. One of the BEST Universal films I have ever seen.
13. THE DUMMY 1976 (SINISTER CINEMA) DVD... Another episode of the show "Beasts". This is about a man who acts in a low budget monster movie taht actually begins to become the monster. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
12. HOW TO MAKE A MONSTER 1958 (SHOUT FACTORY) BLU-RAY... A Hollywood make-up man is fired and he seeks revenge by bringing his studio created monster to life to kill studio execs.
11. JOURNEY TO THE MOON 1959 (SINISTER CINEMA) DVD... Rare as hell Egyptian sci-fi about two men who travel to the moon and find a race of beautiful women. I simply enjoyed the hell out of this film.
Well, that wraps up part 2 of my three part countdown of the Top 28 DVD and Blu-ray releases for 2020. Next week...the Top 10.

RIP PETER MARK RICHMAN 1927-2021
One of the most dependable actors in the business has passed away.
He started his acting career in 1953 in an episode of the TV series 'SUSPENSE" and never looked back.
He was in just about every TV show I ever watched as a kid including "McCloud", "Rawhide", "Alfred Hitchcock Presents", "The Outer Limits", "Twilight Zone", "Star Trek", "The Loner", "Ben Casey" and so much more.
His movie credits are just as impressive. The genre movies he made include "Agent For H.A.R.M." and "Dark Intruder". He was always a welcome face in any show and tunred in nothing but solid performances no matter how bad the material.
Over 159 acting credits is not too shabby. He passed away on Jan. 14th, 2021 at the age of 93.
HELL OF THE LIVING DEAD 1980 (TUBI)
My God, it has been over 30 years since I first saw this Italian "masterpiece".
I first stumbled upon this film in 1983 at a video rental store and was so out off by it I never watched it again. Well low and behold, I found it streaming the other day and figured "what the hell"...so I checked it out one more time.
I can say things have changed in 37 years. I actually found the film quite entertaining and some of the dialogue was amusing.
Bruno Mattei brings us this tale about an accident during an experiment that causes the dead to come back to life as cannibals in New Guinea. A team of four commandos are sent in to investigate and they happen upon a female reporter and her camerman.
The four men first meet the reporter Lia Rousseau ( Margie Newton) and her camerman when they are attacked by fleash eating creatures when they stop in a small town. This is a great scene in whcih a child begins feasting on his father!!
They decide to all travel together and come upon a tribe that is letting themselves be killed by their own dead because they believe that it is the end of the world. The group fianlly makes its way to the place where the accident happened and then we have one of the wildest endings to any movie I have seen in a while.
Mattei throws in dozens of random shots of birdsand such, but that isn't half as bad as all the gross scenes of actual native goings on in New Guinea. Sorry, that doesn't do much for me. The scene where the reporter takes off her clothes and interacts with the natives is something that never seems to leave my mind.
Acting awards go to Franco Garofalo as Zantoro, a member of the commandos. He has some of the best ines in the film and you gotta love it when he taunts the zombies. Also the music is by Goblin and you can hear many tracks the group used for "Dawn Of The Dead" in this film as well.
Overly gory in places, but a typical piece of 80's Italian horror that I actually liked. It's a fun ride and nobody makes films like MatteI...NOBODY.

FASCISM ON A THREAD: THE STRANGE STORY OF NAZISPLOITATION CINEMA 2020 (TUBI)
Very interesting documentary on a very niche market in the film industry.
This film looks at the many, many Nazisploitation films made during the 70's and I am sure you have heard of a lot of these. I like this particular genre of films, but lets face it, most are just enjoyable trash to be watched once and then forgotten. Others just seem to stick in your head forever.
You hear from a lot of people involved in these films including Sergio Garrone and Bruni Mattei but the real treat is listening to Dyanne Thorne talk about her Ilsa films and hiow much she really appreciated being in them and the stardom they garnered her. Also I loved the interviews with Malisa Longo whom I had a huge crush on in my early years.
There are many clips from such films as Ilsa: She Wolf Of The SS (Probably the most famous of these titles), Love Camp 7, Helga: She Wolf Of Stilberg, Deported Women Of The SS and so much more.
Many of ther talking heads give their opinuons and ideas about why people watch these films, but let's again face the facts. These films aren full of what the audience wants...beautiful buxom Nazi babes, outrageous story lines, torture, SM, and a very twisted history.
These films could never be made today because of the PC garbage in the movie business and that is a VERY sad fact. These films are looked at today as being terrible and violent against women. Yeah ok, what a load of crap. I admit I enjoy them for all of the above mentioned reasons and take pride in that.
If you're a fan of this very bizarre and short lived genre, check this out. You won't be disappointed. LONG LIVE ILSA!!!!!

RIP JULIE STRAIN 1962-2021
The wonderful Julie has died.
Julie was a Penthouse Pet of The Year, but I remember her most from her acting career. She appeared in many, many films I have seen and enjoyed over the years including FIT TO KILL, ENEMY GOLD, BIKINI SQUAD, DALLAS CONNECTION, VICTIM OF DESIRE and many more.
Julie stood 6'2" tall and was sexy as hell. Her autobiography was entitled "6' 2" and Well Worth The Climb". She didn't mind making low budget horror and fantasy films and as a matter of fact loved it.
Reports say she passed away on Jan. 10th, 2021 after a long battle with dementia. This was brought on by a head trauma she suffered in her 20's according to reports.
She has a huge fan base and everyone who is part of that will miss her. She was taken way too young.
