Hudson gives a very good performance as a man torn between two women and always having to fight those he doesn't want to.
Mary Castle is his half sister whom he loves and when she is killed he turns to a dance hall girl played by Julie Adams, whom he eventually marries.
This is all a Hollywood version of Hardin, of course, but it does make for a damn good film and one Western fans won't want to miss.
Raoul Walsh directed and the rousing music score is by Joseph Gershenson, and would later be heard in some classic Universal monster movies as well.
The cast also includes, John McIntire, Hugh O' Brian. Dennis Weaver, Forrest Lewis, Lee Van Cleef, Richard Garland, and Glenn Strange.
