WEIRD FICTION 2018 (WILD EYE)

A very entertaining indie horror film.

It's not often that a movie made in the last 20 years entertains me as much as this one did. This is a great anthology film containing four tales told by a crypt keeper rip off known as "The Collector" (Jacob Perrett).

The first tale is called "Goodnight Daddy" and involves a group of teens who discover where a killer is hiding the bodies of his victims. This has an interesting twist or two in it.

The second tale is "Night Of The Sitter" and involves a man who wants to have sex with a young woman so bad he agrees to babysit her brother when she goes out. Both sitter and his charge then must fight off an evil creature living under a bed. This was a highly entertaining story.

The third tale is "The Incubus" and it is the weakest of the four. A porn star wakes up one morning and finds he has a wound on his neck. He changes into a vampire and his real self comes out. Nothing unexpected really happens, but hey, it's ok.

The final tale is entitled "Cosmic Terror". A Martian lands in the backyard of two highschool students. One of the young girls takes in a mysterious creature from the craft and keeps it in her home. Her sister objects, but finally concedes. This story slow changes from a family tale into outright terror as the alien reveals his plans for world domination.

The movie is homage to films of the 80's and it's perfect in it's imagery and surroundings. There are no cell phones, no computers, no women covered in tats. Director Jabob Perrett not only plays the Collector, he made a great little fan based film that I hope gets seen by horror fans.

The unknown cast includes Tayloe Rhoades, Isabella Rodriguez, Mackenzie Anthony, Caleb Bish, and Matt Nale. A huge recommendation here as I believe there are not many indie projects like this that actually work. This one does and a big hats off to the people who made this undiscovered gem.
