THE HANGMAN 1959 (OLIVE)

Excellent western directed by Michael Curtiz.

Robert Taylor is Mackenzie Bovard, a marshal who is known for tracking down and capturing killers. He tracks a killer to a small town and is hell bent on arresting him, but finds that everyone in the town likes the man and he is now working a good job and is married with a child on the way.

Bovard enlists the aid of a young lady who once knew the man, but finds that she will not identify him and turn him into the law.Her name is Selah Jennison and the part is played very well by Tina Louise.

Jack Lord is Johnny Bishop, the fugitive and he is continually protected by everyone in town including the sheriff played bt Fess Parker. This is a great story told very well by the director and the cast.

the acting is top notch and it's a;ways good to see Taylor back in westerns. His character changes from hard bitten to a more softer side by mid movie. The Blu-ray presentation is excellent as always from Olive. There are no extras, but that shouldn't be a reason for western fans to not watch this excellent 50's western. recommended!!
