12 TO THE MOON 1960 (SONY)

Re-visiting a rather obscure film from the 60's.

This is a very low budget, but sincere attempt to show an international crew of astronauts attempting to reach the moon.

When the 12 do reach the moon it is discovered that an alien race lives there and they find that humans are too immature and violent to live in harmony with the rest of the universe.

There are some ok special effects in this film, but there are also some lousy ones such as the ending where two astronauts attempt to stop a big freeze. You can actually see the black pole holding the spaceship.

I don't let this stop my enjoyment of the film and you shouldn't either. It's not a bad film, but it could be trimmed by about 10 minutes even though it only runs 74 minutes anyway.

The cast is one of a kind and includes Tom Conway, Ken Clark, Francis X. Bushman, Anna-Lisa, Michi Kobi, Tony Dexter and John Wehgraf. If you haven't seen it I would recommend it only for it's strange storyline.
