Claude Rains stars in this wild and very weird sci-fi film about a runaway planet called "The Outsider" that happens to be on the same orbit as the Earth.
The only problem being that the planet is inhabited by aliens who want to take over the earth. This is a very bizarre film with plenty of weird sounds and music. Rains is the only recognizable name in the film and he does a wonderful job of playing a scientist who is more up on things than his colleagues give him credit for.
The end of the film has the astronauts finally entering the planet and finding the master control switch. Rains dies and the final shot is of his small pet dog scratching at the window for it's master to return home. When I saw this fim for the first time I was unimpressed, but that scene always stuck with me.
Now seeing this again after so many years I know it isn't the greatest film ever, but it is entertaining in its own way and one you've probably seen if you're reading this blog entry.
The print that is used by Mill Creek is the same print always used. It has washed out color, but is still very watchable.
