In the year 2022, America is a new country run by a bunch of what I can only assume to be liberals who advocate that one night a year, for 12 hours and crime is totally legal.
A rich family living in a gated community is attacked by a bunch of psychos when their young son lets in a man who is targeted to be killed by these people in their purge. The family must then fight for survival.
It seems this film shows what America really is anymore anyway, a place for criminals to run wild with no fear, only put into a movie and exaggerated for entertainment purposes. The cast is good at playing the terrified victims and I will say the movie had it's share of shocks with a minimum of gore.
The ending is a twisted and bizarre one, but what does one expect of any movie this day and age? I liked this film, and look forward to the second one. If you're so inclined, check it out.
