Orson Wells is the uncredited director for this amazing film noir masterpiece. He stars as a seaman named Michael O' Hara who falls madly in love with a beautiful married woman named Elsa Bannister, playde by stunning Rita Hayworth.
O' Hara agrees to a bizarre plan to get 5000 dollars for faking the murder of another man, but when that man actually turns up dead, O'Hara is charged with murder. He hires high profile attorney Arthur Bannister, the husband of the woman he is in love with.
Bannister has no intention of letting O' Hara off the hook after he finds out about the affair. Then O' Hara must prove himself innocent. There are many, many twists and turns in this complex film about double and triple cross and murder.
Hayworth stunned the movie going public in this film by chopping off her sexy long red hair and dying it platinum blond. This is a top notch film noir that has a bargain price on Blu-ray of 10 dollars or less. it is an example of perfect movie making and the house of mirrors climax is not to be missed.
The rest of the cast includes Everette Sloane as Arthur Bannister, Ted de Corsia, and Carl Frank. Highly recommended!!
