SHORT TAKES.....

Watched a couple of excellent 50's horror films the other night.

Nothing better on a Friday night than to catch DAY THE WORLD ENDED 1956 (LIONSGATE) along with the SHE CREATURE 1956 (LIONSGATE)

DAY THE WORLD ENDED is my all time favorite 50's monster movie. Roger Corman directed this tale of seven people stranded in a house after an atomic war. Richard Denning is the hero and lovely Lori nelson is a woman who is stalked by a bizarre mutant.

The Paul Blaisdell monster is something that, once seen is never forgotten. I cannot recommend this enough.

THE SHE CREATURE is an Edward L. Cahn film about a hypnotist, played by Chester Morris who uses a young woman to bring back her prehistoric self into the present. Sexy Marla English co-stars. Again, the monster costume by Paul Blaisdell is something to behold.

Blaisdell was a very creative force in 50's monster movie making, and was never really given the credit he should have been given. Check out these from Lionsgate and give yourself a night of top notch fun.
