GAMBLER AND THE LADY 1952 (KIT PARKER)

Dane Clark stars as an American gambler in England who falls in love with a blue blood but has nothing but trouble with gangsters and a jealous ex-girlfriend.
This is one of a few film noir productions made by Hammer Films before they stormed on the world with some of the greatest horror films ever made.
Clark is very good in the role as the somewhat innocent American who has trouble learning the English way.
Lots of very familiar English character actors who would later appear in the classic horrors from Hammer round out the cast including Kathleen Byron, Eric Pohlmann, Julian Somers and Mona Washbourne.
The picture quality is top notch and brings out the beautiful black and white photography which is essential to film noir.
