Thaxter gained her greatest fame playing the girlfriend of vengeful POW Robert Ryan in the 1948 film noir classic Act Of Violence.
I will always remember her for that and her role in the 1962 Twilight Zone episode "Young Man's Fancy" in which she played a woman who looses her new husband to the ghost of his mother.
A real talent and beauty has left us, but we have a legacy she leaves behind for us to enjoy.
