I have read so many bad and angry reviews about this movie, and while it isn't the best, it certainly doesn't deserve to be torn apart. I first saw this many, many tears ago in Spokane, Washington as a monster loving kid, and never forget it.
An alien ship arrives on earth and the bodiless alien inside can control all animal life and some humans as well with it's super intellect. It causes several people to be killed by animals and it also takes over the mind of a half-wit living with a farm family.
Yes, the alien saucer is actually a percolator with a few additions stuck on it, and the effects are cheap, but that in no way takes away from the film. The budget was around $23,000 which was extremely low, but I say they did a good job with it. Paul Blaisdell created the monster we see at the very end which is a bizarre looking alien that is also possessed by the evil mind.
Paul Birch, Lorna Thayer and Dona Cole head the cast which is rounded out by Dick Sargent, Leonard Tarver and Chester Conklin. The print from MGM is extremely nice to look at. Yes I like this movie, so sue me.
